The Whites ace helped Marcelo Bielsa’s charges go top of the table again ahead of this weekend’s Elland Road clash.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been recognised for his efforts at the weekend by being named in Whoscored’s Championship Team of the Week.
The Whites fan favourite put in a superb display for the Elland Road side in Sunday’s win away at Barnsley, playing a key role as Marcelo Bielsa’s charges returned to the top of the Championship table.
Phillips won the ball plenty of times in midfield, putting in some great tackles, and although his passing and set-piece taking was arguably not up to his usually high standard in the first half, this improved after the interval.
Indeed, one of the 23-year-old’s free kicks late on in the game was met well by Eddie Nketiah to finally give Leeds the breakthrough on 84 minutes, before Mateusz Klich put the result beyond all doubt on 89 minutes with a penalty.
As a result, Phillips made the Whoscored XI with a score of 8.4, also getting the Man of the Match star for his exploits at Oakwell, during which he made 3 key passes, won 3 aerial challenges, had 98 touches, made 4 tackles in total, plus an interception, a clearance and a blocked shot.
Up next for Leeds is Saturday’s early Championship kickoff against Derby County at Elland Road.
