Kalvin Phillips and Joe Hart were just some of the players to react on Instagram to one-time Leeds man, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, joining Sheffield Wednesday.
It has been two years since Peacock-Farrell left Leeds for Burnley, but a lack of game time at Turf Moor since that move has resulted in him joining Sheffield Wednesday on a temporary basis.
Darren Moore’s side were relegated from the Championship to League One last season, after problems both on and off the pitch.
And now the task is pretty simple for the club, to earn promotion at the first time of asking because they don’t want to be stuck in that division like some of their previous rivals have done over the years.
Leeds fans will be well aware of what the pain of playing in England’s third-tier is like, but now they are back on the up and trying to relive the good old times in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, when Peacock-Farrell posted on Instagram about his move to Hillsborough, this is how Phillips and Hart reacted.
The Tottenham shot-stopper, who worked with him at Burnley, wrote: “Time to fly. Good luck.”
Whilst Phillips simply issued this two-word response: “Nice bails.”
Well, if Peacock-Farrell had stayed on at Elland Road then he may have been part of Leeds’ current set-up and pushing for that number one jersey.
But Illan Meslier is Marcelo Bielsa’s number one now and there does seem to be a spot open for someone to challenge the young Frenchman.
Kiko Casilla has signed a loan deal with Elche and it’s interesting how the trio’s careers have faired since their days in the Championship.
