The Leeds United-owned striker made headlines for unsavoury reasons this week following an incident that left his team-mate banished.

Leeds United’s Jay-Roy Grot has revealed that he’s willing to make peace with Riechedly Bazoer after their bust-up.

Grot, who is on loan at Vitesse in the Netherlands, made headlines this week for becoming embroiled in a training-ground row with the Dutch international.

Bazoer has since been banished from the Eredivisie club for his role in the incident, which the Leeds striker claims was mostly verbal.

According to Omreop Gelderland, the pair had to be separated in training and although Grot has refused to divulge any motives behind the row, the towering striker claims that he’s ready to let bygones be bygones and welcome back Bazoer, who has six caps for the Netherlands.

Speaking to Fox Sports, Grot, who joined the Elland Road club in 2017, said: “As far as I am concerned, he does not necessarily have to apologise. But we are still a team and it is not only up to me to decide whether he can come back.

“I myself have no problems with him. I am always good with Bazoer. For me it is finished, but the group has been clear that you cannot do what he did. So for now, I do not know what he has to do to come back.”

It’s a classy stance from the big man, who clearly does not seem to harbour any resentment toward his team-mate over the spat.

Grot played in Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Den Haag, but there was no sign of Bazoer, who has two goals for the club so far this season.

Apart from this, it’s been a largely uneventful loan for the 21-year-old Leeds loanee, who has managed one goal in 11 league outings.
