Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Diego Llorente will not play against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park tonight because of the injury he picked up against Liverpool.
Llorente suffered what appeared to be a hamstring injury during Leeds’s defeat to Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League last weekend.
The Spain international central defender was substituted in the first half, and his replacement, Pascal Struijk, was sent off in the second period.
Leeds will take on Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this evening.
Ahead of the game, Leeds head coach Bielsa has said that Llorente will not play in the game.
Bielsa told Leeds Live: “Of the four centre-backs that we have, we are not able to count on Diego, Pascal or Koch, but we’re in conditions to resolve the issue.”

Blow for Leeds United
After the match, Llorente suggested on Instagram that he could be back for the match against Newcastle.
However, the injury that the 28-year-old Spain international centre-back suffered is clearly more serious than initially thought.
Newcastle are not having the best of seasons and will also be without their star striker Callum Wilson.
However, the Magpies have a brilliant attacking player in Allan Saint-Maximin, who could cause Leeds a lot of problems.
