Leeds are on the verge of making their third signing, but a new winger remains a priority.

Leeds United are reportedly closing in on a move to sign left-back Barry Douglas from newly-promoted Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, but a new winger remains high on Marcelo Bielsa’s to-do list.
The club have desperately needed a left-back for some time, with Gaetano Berardi, Laurens De Bock and Stuart Dallas failing to provide adequate options – while Tom Pearce is still showing signs of inexperience.
But the signing of Scotland international Douglas puts and end to those woes. After signing a goalkeeper and a central midfielder, Bielsa will now be looking to sign a striker and a winger before the window slams shut.
The need for a striker is obvious. Even throughout pre-season, Leeds have missed a powerful focal point with enough experience to push the Whites towards promotion.
But Leeds also need a winger, with Ezgjan Alioski disappointing in pre-season – especially against Forest Green Rovers. A player with experience is required, with Leeds squad very young other than Pablo Hernandez.
It should convince Bielsa to consider a move for Sunderland’s Aiden McGeady, and reignite Leeds reported interest in the former Celtic and Spartak Moscow star, after the Yorkshire club tried to sign him in 2016 from Everton (Liverpool Echo).

Instead, the 93-time Ireland international moved to Sheffield Wednesday, and then onto Preston before Sunderland. Following the Black Cats relegation, he is likely to be on the lookout for a new home.
McGeady boasts huge experience and an impressive return in England’s second division, having a hand in 30 goals during his 82 Championship appearances.
Adding his creativity, flair and set-piece ability to Leeds side would be an enormous boost in their bid for promotion, but too of the pitch, McGeady’s experience would help young stars such as Jamie Shackleton and Jack Clarke out wide.
