Bayern Munich have made a substantial offer to sign Ajax defender and reported Leeds United target Noussair Mazraoui, with FC Barcelona also interested in the fullback.
According to Sport1, the German giants are stepping up their interest in the Moroccan right-back, with Bayern tabling a €10m (£8.4m)-a-year contract for Mazraoui, who is set to leave Ajax at the end of this season as a free agent.
As reported by ESPN, Leeds are keen on Mazraoui, with Arsenal also showing interest in the Eredivisie star, yet it now looks like Bayern have stormed into the lead to sign the defender, who this campaign has been exceptional for Ajax.
Bayern are looking to bolster their right-back options ahead of next season, and Mazraoui has now emerged as a candidate for the Bundesliga titans, much to the dismay of Leeds, who have been chasing the 24-year-old for some time.
Dynamic and athletic, Mazraoui has flourished for Ajax this season under Erik ten Hag, yet his desire to leave the Netherlands for the new challenge has come at a cost for Leeds, with Bayern now favourites to sign the defender this summer.
Indeed, Leeds might have the pulling power to land Mazraoui, yet the finances Bayern are putting on the table are nothing the Yorkshire side can offer, with the club’s current highest-paid player being Rodrigo at £5.2m-a-year as per Salary Sport.
Leeds have no chance of landing Mazraoui now after Bayern’s offer

Leeds had a relatively small chance of landing Mazraoui this summer despite the competition also in the race for the defender, but Bayern’s reported offer for the fullback has all but killed Jesse Marsch’s chances of signing the Ajax star.
There’s still a long way to go before Leeds can face the top sides in Europe for some of the most exciting names in football, and for the club with Mazraoui, Bayern’s offer is simply too much for Whites to even match, let alone best.
