The Leeds United forward may not have lived up to expectations but it is too early to write him off.

When Leeds United signed Kemar Roofe from Oxford United last summer he was tipped to be the next big thing at Elland Road.
Unfortunately for Whites fans and for the 24-year-old himself, things have not quite gone according to plan thus far, with Roofe finding the net just four times in 47 appearances.
That is in stark contrast to his return of 25 goals and 12 assists in 49 games for Oxford, albeit in a lower division.
But before Leeds fans get too critical of the forward, it would be worth casting their minds back to Chris Wood’s first year at Elland Road.
The New Zealand international may be banging them in with impressive regularity this time round, but last season he was nowhere near as prolific, managing only 13 in 37 matches.

That may still be markedly better than Roofe’s debut attempt, but the versatile attacker has had to make do with plenty of appearances from the bench this season.
He has also been moved around the pitch as Leeds boss Garry Monk attempts to get his side over a line that is beginning to fade into the distance and has had to step up a division following his heroics in League One.
It was unfair to judge Wood after one season, and the same applies for Roofe.
