Leeds goalkeeper has been a revelation.
After being plunged in at the deep end, Will Huffer shone on his Leeds United debut.
The untested goalkeeper answered an injury crisis last month and kept a clean sheet as the Whites beat Bristol City.
Since then he has been on the bench since after Bailey-Peacock-Farrell returned. Now a transfer threatens to drop him back to the under-23s.
The Daily Mirror (11/12; page 53) report Leeds are lining up a move for Keiran Westwood.
The experienced Irishman will either slot in as a number one or number two, moving Huffer to third choice.
This will be disappointing to Huffer, but totally understandable.
He would never have expected to be in this position, and if it turns out his Leeds’ first team season is over, he can still look back with great satisfaction.
Huffer has marked his card as a player who can be counted on if needed, and is a potential future Leeds number one.
Next up for the goalkeeper will be to solidify his position as first choice for the under-23s.
Huffer has competition from Kamil Miazek, Harrison Male, and Dimitar Sheytanov, making goalkeeper one of the deepest positions at the club.
He was hand picked by Marcelo Bielsa, and his confidence should be sky high, whatever happens with Westwood.
