Leeds United’s options at right-back look healthier after bright talent Bryce Hosannah returned from injury.

Hosannah missed the start of the season with injury before returning in October, and then getting injured again.

He made his comeback yesterday in Leeds’ under-23 game with Barnsley.

Intriguingly, Hosannah played as a winger when he was reintroduced, with Robbie Gotts at right-back.

Hosannah was one of the under-23s best players last season after signing following a successful trial. He had previously been with Crystal Palace’s under-18s.

His performances were rewarded with a call up to the first team for the post-season trip to Myanmar, where he made his unofficial debut.

Since then injuries have halted his progress, and now he has a chance to try and pick up where he left off.

He has since been overtaken in the pecking order by Jamie Shackleton, who is deputising as Leeds’ first-team right-back due to injuries.

Hosannah’s return strengthens Leeds’ depth at the position, and if he gets more games as a winger, then he could become a very interesting option there.
