Leeds favourites to beat Newcastle United for ‘explosive’ British talent

Leeds United are reportedly the favourites to sign 17-year-old Birmingham City talent George Hall, with Premier League rivals Newcastle United also interested in the midfielder.

According to the Sun (03/04; page 61), Jesse Marsch’s side lead the chase for the Championship prospect, who has impressed for Birmingham at U-23 level this season with Hall signing a professional contract with the Blues earlier in the season.

Following the incredible success of Jude Bellingham, Birmingham look to have another fantastic prodigy on their hands in Hall, who is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in England, yet it is Leeds who seemingly lead the race for the teenager.

Labelled as ‘explosive’ by Birmingham U-18 coach Martyn Olorenshaw, Hall has already featured this season for the first-team, yet this summer could see the youngster make a move to the Premier League, with Leeds an ideal destination for the midfielder.

The Whites have made it a mission of theirs in recent seasons to sign some of the most exciting talents in the United Kingdom, with Joe Gelhardt a signing from Wigan Athletic and Sam Greenwood brought in from Arsenal.

Indeed, under Jesse Marsch, Leeds could soon become of the most exciting young squads in England, with the American coach noted for his work on youth players, and Hall could become a part of this project if the Yorkshire side win the race for the midfielder.

Hall would develop well if he swaps Birmingham for Leeds

This summer is set to be a huge one for Leeds under Marsch, and whilst Hall won’t be a standout signing if the club do win the race for the teenager, the midfielder could develop well in the coming years if he is to make the switch to Elland Road.

Indeed, Leeds have proven to be a great club for talented youngsters to continue their development, and for Hall, Marsch and company will be excellent mentors and provide the right environment for the 17-year-old if the Whites win the race for his signature.
