Sunderland reportedly want Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, but the Manchester United youngster and former Leeds United loanee is claimed to be on his way to Scunthorpe United.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson failed to make an impact at Leeds United during his loan spell from Manchester United.
Much was expected of Borthwick-Jackson when the youngster moved to Championship club Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Premier League giants United in the summer of 2017.
However, the 21-year-old left-back failed to do much of note at Elland Road, as the youngster played just 82 minutes of Championship football before having his loan spell cut, according to WhoScored.
The former England Under-20 international returned to United in the January transfer window.
Leeds fans were not disappointed when Borthwick-Jackson left the Whites, as reported on HITC Sport, and one suspects that the West Yorkshire outfit’s supporters will not be surprised that the left-back could be on the move again, this time to League One.
According to ESPN, the Englishman youngster to set join League One club Scunthorpe United on loan from the Red Devils.
It will come as a disappointment for Sunderland, who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship.
The Sunderland Echo has credited Jack Ross’s side with interest in Borthwick-Jackson, but it seems that the Black Cats are set to miss out on the left-back.
Having failed to make an impact at Leeds in the Championship, perhaps the youngster will achieve some kind of success in League One.
