Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has become Leeds United’s latest signing, joining on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has suggested to LUTV that Leeds fans should not expect any nervy displays from him following his loan switch from Manchester United as he does not suffer from nerves while playing.
Borthwick-Jackson has become Thomas Christiansen’s latest signing during a busy summer for the Whites, joining from the Red Devils on a season-long loan to bolster the side’s defensive ranks.
And with the injuries to Matthew Pennington and Gaetano Berardi in the win over Bolton further exposing just how short of numbers the side are at the back, Leeds could certainly do with the 20-year-old hitting the ground running following his arrival at Elland Road.
But luckily enough for the Championship outfit, the full-back has insisted that nerves do not tend to be a part of the game that he has to worry about.
“It’s mad to say but I don’t get nervous, when I make my debut, stuff like that. Nerves don’t really hurt me, I just block it out, get on with the game and do what I can for the team, so [I’m] just looking forward to doing the same here,” he told LUTV.
Borthwick-Jackson’s confidence in his ability to avoid getting nervous will surely be especially beneficial if Leeds get themselves into a similar position to the one that saw them come desperately close to a play-off spot last season.
The Whites were in a brilliant position before a poor run of form proved extremely costly, and having confident and assured players this time around will surely boost their chances of banishing those demons at the first attempt during the coming months.
