Roofe struggled on Saturday as Bamford came on to score for Leeds.

Leeds United's Patrick Bamford scores his side's first goal

Marcelo Bielsa has a conundrum when it comes to picking his starting side for Leeds United’s clash against Middlesbrough on Saturday – and fans believe they have come up with a solution.

Kemar Roofe is the club’s top scorer with 14 goals in 24 Championship fixtures. He has been ruthless in front of goal this season, but struggled against Norwich City last weekend.

Indeed, he was pushed back into the number 10 role and Patrick Bamford was brought on for just his ninth appearance for the Whites since joining the club from Saturday’s opponents Middlesbrough.

He scored Leeds’ only goal of the game with a predatory finish from six yards out. That goal will give Bielsa a selection headache, especially with the Argentine manager looking to end a poor run of form that has seen Leeds lose four of their last six league games.

Does Bielsa place his faith in top scorer Roofe, who has scored just one goal in that run of six league games, or does he give Bamford a chance? Well, Leeds fans have another idea.

Many want to see Bielsa combine both Roofe and Bamford, and see the two strikers form a partnership that could fire the Whites to victory over Boro at the Riverside on Saturday.
