Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been largely inconsistent throughout the 2017-18 campaign after an excellent start with two goals against Bolton on the opening day – but fans are desperate to see the back of him this summer.

The 22-year-old wowed fans and generated huge excitement amongst the Elland Road supporters with his brace on the opening day in the 3-2 win over Bolton, as Thomas Christiansen gave him more of a free role.

However, the opening day of the season was arguably Phillips’ best performance of the entire campaign, as he has looked a shadow of the player that roamed freely around the middle of the park during the first few games.

In 41 league and cup appearances, Phillips has scored five goals and added three assists but there are question marks surrounding his passing and aerial ability.

Phillips signed a new four-year deal back in August but Leeds fans are desperate to see him go, as he struggles to replicate the kind of form that saw him shine at the beginning of the season.

Leeds fans reacted to a supporter’s post that listed the Whites players he would like to see departing Elland Road, and Phillips was mentioned by the majority as a player they want sold.
