Leeds United fans are interested in Chris Coleman’s Sunderland exit.
Sunderland went through an action-packed Sunday, as they not only sacked manager Chris Coleman, but also changed ownership as Ellis Short finally sold the club.
The Black Cats have been in decline for some time now, and after their relegation from the Premier League last season, they turned to Simon Grayson in a bid to stabilise in the Championship.
However, Grayson was sacked in October and eventually replaced by Chris Coleman, as he quit his role as Wales boss to take a gamble on his career and head to the Stadium of Light.
Unfortunately for Coleman, this has ultimately been an impossible job, and after five wins and 16 defeats in 29 games in charge, the Welshman was sacked on Sunday.
The 47-year-old oversaw Sunderland’s relegation, but much of the damage was already done, and Coleman may still find himself in demand with Championship clubs this summer.
Many will remember his incredible work with Wales, and whilst they may not even be in the market for a new manager, Leeds fans are keen to see Coleman head to Elland Road.
Current Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom is hugely unpopular after just three wins since taking the job in February, and many Leeds supporters have taken to Twitter to call for Coleman to replace Heckingbottom.
Some even sent messages to club owner Andrea Radrizzani urging him to consider bringing in Coleman as Heckingbottom’s replacement this summer, with many impressed with him despite Sunderland’s relegation and his sacking.
