Leeds United’s under-23 side suffered a disappointing defeat, but some of the players impressed for Carlos Corberan’s side.

A handful of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Bryce Hosannah’s situation after Gaetano Berardi was sent off at the weekend and the right-back impressed during the Whites’ under-23 side’s disappointing defeat to Millwall on Monday.

Paul Heckingbottom appears to have a very tricky decision in front of him. Full-back has been a problematic position for Leeds throughout the campaign, and it has got worse with Berardi now suspended for the rest of the campaign after being dismissed against Sunderland on Saturday.

The likes of Stuart Dallas, Vurnon Anita and Tom Pearce are likely to be in contention for Tuesday’s clash with Preston North End, but it appears that several fans now want to see Hosannah given a chance in the first-team as he continues to impress for Carlos Corberan’s side.

The 18-year-old looked extremely bright during Leeds’ 2-0 loss to the Lions at The Den, especially when he made some darting runs forward, and some supporters now want to see him rewarded in the near future.

It certainly makes sense to try and give Hosannah a chance in the senior side before the summer. It is not as if Heckingbottom has a cluster of senior full-backs to pick from right now, and with little to play for, there may not be a better time to rotate the options and take a gamble.

On social media, some supporters praised Hosannah’s display against Millwall, while others felt that it is now time for his first-team bow to come with Berardi unavailable and only a handful of makeshift options left available to the head coach.
