Leeds United have announced that the Whites midfielder Mateusz Klich has been named in Poland’s national squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying matches.

Jerzy Brzeczek’s charges are aiming to qualify for the finals of a European finals tournament for the fourth time in a row, having reached the quarter-finals in France three years ago.

At present they have a 100 percent record in the qualifiers, having beaten Latvia 2-0 at home and running out 1-0 winners in Austria ahead of Group G’s June games.

Poland they take on North Macedonia – Ezgjan Alioski’s nation – in Skopje on Friday 7 June, before returning home to face Israel in Warsaw three days later.

Klich has featured in all of Leeds’ games in the Championship this season – the 46 regular league games plus both legs of the playoff semi-finals – scoring 10 goals and registering nine assists according to Transfermarkt.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Elland Road outfit from Dutch club FC Utrecht last summer, has won seven caps for Poland since his June 2011 debut, scoring twice.
