Leeds fans react on Twitter as extra seats released for QPR game

Leeds United host QPR at Elland Road in the Championship tomorrow.

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the club’s announcement that extra seats have been released to home fans for tomorrow’s Championship clash against QPR at Elland Road (official Leeds website).

The Whites have put out a statement on their site and Twitter channel confirming that home supporters will be given access to purchase seats in the West Stand lower away section, as tomorrow’s away support is set to only fill the upper tier.

Leeds added that this arrangement will be dependent on the fixture in hand but will be in operation for the second time this season for the fixture against the R’s tomorrow.

“Ahead of every home match, and only once all of the general admission areas have sold out everywhere else in the stadium, the away support will be reviewed and fans will then be informed whether or not tickets will be available in the lower section,” said the Leeds statement.

“These seats will only be made available for purchase to Gold Members. The area is restricted to members only and are strictly one ticket each. These tickets are now available online.”

Leeds currently sit third in the Championship table, two points off top spot, and will be hosting a side eighth in the standings, who could recall seven-goal striker Jordan Hugill after he completed a one-match suspension for five bookings.

As for the Whites, captain Liam Cooper and playmaker Pablo Hernandez could start after recovering from injury, but Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas are all doubts, as reported by BBC Sport.

Leeds have won their past two home league matches against QPR, winning 2-0 in May 2018 and 2-1 in December 2018, but the Londoners won two of their past three games against the Whites in all competitions in 2018-19, beating them in the FA Cup in January and the Championship in February (BBC Sport).
