The popular translator appears to have left Leeds United.
Leeds United fans on Twitter have responded to a tweet from Salim Lamrani.
Lamrani is a popular figure among the United supporters after acting as Marcelo Bielsa’s translator last season.
But it remains to be seen if he’s back with the Leeds boss this season after Bielsa’s words were translated by goalkeeping coach Marcos Abad in Australia last week.
Lamrani, who has been an important aid to Bielsa since his Lille days, has been suggesting on social media as of late that he has indeed left West Yorkshire by posting his favourite memories of certain Leeds stars.
Last night it was the turn of captain Liam Cooper to get his tribute, and here’s how fans of the Elland Road club responded.
Lamrani isn’t a football man. According to Le Monde, he is a ‘specialist in relations between Cuba and the United States’, which means that he’s a tad over-qualified to simply translate words from Spanish to English.
It seems likely that he has left the Leeds boss to pursue other opportunities, but time will tell.
