Several Leeds United fans responded to Rob Green’s tweet in the wake of Huddersfield Town’s win on Saturday.
A number of Leeds fans have responded to Rob Green after the goalkeeper sent out a message on Twitter in the wake of Huddersfield Town’s victory over West Brom at the weekend.
The 37-year-old left Elland Road for the John Smith’s Stadium in the summer, but has not been on the pitch for a single minute of Premier League action since his move.
And after being an unused substitute once again for the 1-0 win against the Baggies, Green took to Twitter to express his delight at the result.
Unfortunately for Green, the timing of the tweet has attracted a number of Leeds supporters to suggest that the veteran may be taking a dig at his former employers.
Before today, Green had not tweeted since he left Leeds back in August, and the tweet came not long after the final whistle of the Whites’ 3-1 defeat away at Brentford which leaves them tenth in the Championship having lost seven of their last nine games.
The game also saw one of his replacements, Andy Lonergan make a howler as he dropped a cross right into Neal Maupay’s path for the opening goal at Griffin Park. Some may suggest that he could have done better for the Bees’ second.
And with fellow summer signing Felix Wiedwald making a number of mistakes before he was dropped a few weeks ago, Green’s tweet has prompted a number of Leeds fans to urge the former stopper to come back, while others have picked up on the interesting timing of the post.
