While Saturday was a largely disappointing day for Leeds, Izzy Brown provided one of the few positives to emerge from the weekend as he got another under-23 performance under his belt, and marked the game with a goal in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham.

Brown is putting some serious pressure on Marcelo Bielsa, who is biding his time before handing the Chelsea loanee his debut for the Whites’ first-team.

The forward has scored a handful of goals for Carlos Corberan’s side since his latest return from injury. And after the first-team were beaten at home to Norwich later in the day, many are now desperate to see Bielsa pull the trigger and hand Brown that chance.

With Pablo Hernandez off the boil, Leeds seemed to struggle to turn their possession against the Canaries into genuine chances. And they were punished as Daniel Farke’s side picked up a huge three points in the Championship promotion race.

Brown obviously did not feature at Elland Road, but his message on Twitter on Sunday certainly appeared to reference the first-team’s defeat as he suggested that Leeds need to focus on moving forward after the setback.

And in response, a number of Leeds supporters insisted that now is the time for Brown to get his chance. He is playing well at a time when Hernandez appears to be in need of a rest, and the midfield seems to need greater inspiration.

The stage certainly seems to be perfectly set for Brown to become a Leeds hero.
