Andrea Radrizzani is refusing to give up on Leeds United’s chances of securing automatic-promotion out of the Championship.
A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Andrea Radrizzani’s message to the supporters following the Whites’ agonising 2-1 defeat at home to Wigan on Friday that put a major dent in the club’s automatic-promotion hopes.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side went into the latest round of games with their destiny in their own hands, but Sheffield United managed to put the pressure on with a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest before Leeds kicked off.
And it appears that that pressure may have got to the Whites. Wigan had a man sent off and Patrick Bamford gave the home side a 1-0 lead shortly after, but the visitors would score twice to ensure that Leeds would stay third with three games remaining.
With Wigan struggling to stay in the division, it is baffling to many supporters that Leeds produced such a performance, especially given that they threw away their outstanding record of winning every match in which they have broken the deadlock.
And understandably, some fans are feeling extremely pessimistic about the chances of getting back above Sheffield United before the campaign concludes.
But Radrizzani has taken to Twitter, quoting the Bible to insist that he is not giving up hope that Leeds can still secure second spot. And in response, there were plenty of supporters quoting some of their own favourite passages – from a variety of sources – while others also expressed positive messages ahead of Monday’s game with Brentford.
There was some negativity surrounding the lack of activity in January, but many of the fans remain optimistic that there is another twist left in this promotion race.
