The Wales international dazzled in Leeds’ 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday evening.
The win gave Marcelo Bielsa’s side a three-point cushion in the automatic promotion places, with four Championship games to go.
Roberts, a £4 million signing in 2018 [Daily Mail], has looked a player reborn since January, after Bielsa started playing him in an attacking midfield role.
The former West Brom striker was superb against the Owls yet again and here is what Leeds fans were saying on Twitter after the game:
It was a big gamble by Bielsa to use Roberts as a number 10 instead of signing a replacement for Samu Saiz, who joined Getafe on loan in January, but the Argentine coach has been vindicated.
Roberts isn’t as gifted as Saiz as far as footballing ability goes, but he is a much more effective player than the Spaniard because his attitude is solid and that’s what makes him such a big player for United.
