Tyler Roberts struggled as Leeds United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

For the first time since arriving at Leeds in the summer, Marcelo Bielsa is having to cope with suffering defeat in a competitive game as the Whites were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Championship rivals Preston North End.
Leeds made a number of changes for the clash with Alex Neil’s men, but it would have still been something of a surprise that the home side were beaten 2-0 against a team that played the majority of Tuesday’s game with 10 men.
One of the players brought in for the contest was Tyler Roberts. Despite joining in January, the 19-year-old was making only his second appearance for the club having made his competitive debut in the previous round against Bolton.
Unfortunately for the former West Brom ace, it proved to be a hugely disappointing evening for him as he struggled to make any kind of an impact on the game and he was replaced on the hour-mark.

And it appears that the teenager may have plenty to prove to the supporters as many took to social media to suggest that he looks as though he may not be good enough to succeed at Elland Road.
Roberts – who showed some real glimpses of quality in pre-season, particularly in the defeat at Oxford United – was an expensive signing for the club, with Sky Sports reporting at the time that Leeds had agreed a £2.5 million fee with the Baggies. And some fans already fear that that money could have been better spent elsewhere.
