Leeds United confirmed on their official website on Tuesday evening that manager Steve Evans has left the club after just over seven months in charge.
The Scot, 53, was brought in as Uwe Rosler’s replacement back in October, becoming the sixth manager to work under trigger-happy chairman Massimo Cellino.

Evans was charged with the task of keeping Leeds in the Championship, and with a 13th placed finish under difficult circumstances, Evans more than did his job.
However, the former Rotherham United boss is now out of the job, with Cellino again looking for a new manager to take the Elland Road hotseat.

After some initial resistance, Leeds fans came around to Evans due to his passion for the club, and those supporters took to Twitter after the confirmation of Evans’ departure.
Fans suggested that they will miss Evans, as he did what was asked of him and deserved to be treated better by controversial chairman Cellino.
Cellino was blasted throughout for his chopping and changing, with many blaming him for instability at Elland Road – which could well put managers off replacing Evans this summer.

Fans also looked to who could replace Evans, and touted two former Leeds managers for the job – David O’Leary and Simon Grayson, both of whom are in the running with bookmakers, as well as the likes of Garry Monk or David Moyes, appointments which could put Cellino back in the good books for some.
