The teenager scored two goals and set up another in a 4-2 win for Aberdeen, which sent them up to third in the table – just three points behind Celtic.

In addition to his three goal involvements, Edmonson also won two aerial duels and had 35 touches of the ball, according to SofaScore.

SofaScore also note that he lost possession on 17 occasions.

To further emphasise how impressive the York-born striker’s performance was, he achieved all of the aforesaid in just 56 minutes of action before being withdrawn.

It would be harsh of McInnes to drop him for Aberdeen’s next game after such a display, especially seeing as it’s a top-of-the-table clash with Celtic.
