Leeds United claimed bragging rights this afternoon as they beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

A close game looked to be heading towards a 0-0 draw, as goalkeepers Aaron Ramsdale and Illan Meslier turned in superb displays.

However, Leeds came up with the moment of quality, as Jack Harrison whipped in a sensational cross for Patrick Bamford to head home in the 87th minute.

Leeds saw out the final stages of the game, meaning they have now claimed two wins in a row and picked up a much-needed clean sheet.

Meslier was a big reason for that as he excelled, but defender Robin Koch also deserves some praise for his performance.

The German, snapped up from Freiburg over the summer, had some teething issues in his first couple of Premier League games, giving away penalties against Liverpool and Fulham.

Koch was much better today though, recording three clearance, six aerials won, one interception and one blocked shot.

Leeds fans have been taking to Twitter to hail Koch for his performance, claiming that he was ‘fantastic’ and ‘absolutely terrific’.

Others think he looks like a ‘proper player’ now he has a ‘much better understanding’ of football under Marcelo Bielsa, adding that he looks like a great buy now.
