Leeds United are reportedly considering alternative options to Kyle Bartley, with John Egan one of those being monitored.

Several Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier this week which suggested that the Whites have considered a potential move for John Egan with their pursuit of Kyle Bartley so far failing to progress.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Bartley had been at the top of Leeds’ summer wishlist when it came to central defenders. The club struggled throughout the past season defensively, and much of that was put down to the Whites not managing to keep Bartley after his superb loan spell during the previous campaign.

It had appeared that Bartley returning to Elland Road had moved a step closer in recent times, with the Yorkshire Evening Post suggesting in May that the Englishman had asked to leave Swansea and a return to the Championship club was his preferred option amid links with Rangers.

While the report does not suggest that a move for Bartley is any more or less likely, the fact that things have apparently stalled have concerned a number of fans.
There is some support for a move for Egan – and teammate Ryan Woods, who has not been linked – who has been a very decent servant for the Bees during his time at Griffin Park. However, the majority of the supporters discussing the latest update seem to be extremely worried that their hopes of seeing Bartley return are potentially fading.
