Leeds United have yet to get going in the summer transfer market as questions remain over the future of manager Paul Heckingbottom, but speculation continues.

A host of new signings are needed at Elland Road after such a disappointing season, with a number of positions needing some attention during this summer’s transfer window.

Goalkeeper is one particular area of concern, given that Felix Wiedwald has been a complete flop for Leeds ever since his move from Werder Bremen last summer, whilst Andy Lonergan hasn’t made an impact either.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell needs competition for his place in goal, and Leeds have already been linked with Manchester City’s Angus Gunn and Birmingham City’s David Stockdale.

Now, The Chronicle report that Leeds are interested in a deal for Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, with a £2million fee suggested for the shot-stopper.

Darlow, 27, has been with Newcastle since 2015, making 58 appearances for the club, but he played just 11 Premier League games as Rafael Benitez made it clear that he didn’t fancy Darlow as his first-choice goalkeeper.

A move back to the Championship could be on the cards for the former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper, especially after Martin Dubravka’s permanent move earlier today, and Leeds fans have been reacting to the rumours.

Many believe that Darlow would be a ‘top’ signing in the Championship, adding that £2m fee would be ideal and that he may just be Elland Road-bound after Dubravka’s move, though some would still want to see Gunn arrive instead.
