Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson joked that he would be ready to replace Jose Mourinho.

A number of Leeds fans have responded to Paul Robinson after the former Whites goalkeeper joked on Twitter that he would be interested in taking the Manchester United job.
The Premier League side are looking for a new manager after it was announced that Jose Mourinho had left Old Trafford with the club 19 points off the summit down in sixth.
There has already been plenty of speculation regarding who may take over from the Portuguese, with BBC Sport reporting that they are looking to appoint a caretaker manager from outside the club. Michael Carrick and Nicky Butt are thus, not in contention for the role.
Perhaps sensing that former club Tottenham will surely have to deal with Mauricio Pochettino being heavily linked with the post, Robinson took to social media to back himself for the role by pointing out he had done his coaching badges.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of Leeds supporters replied to Robinson’s tweet. Several actually backed the retired goalkeeper for the job, suggesting that he should prove his loyalty to the Whites by making sure that the Red Devils are relegated.
And Robinson seemed to have a similar idea. When some fans warned him about making a similar mistake to the one Alan Smith made 14 years ago, the 39-year-old joked that he would go in as a secret agent.

Here are some of the best responses to Robinson’s tweet from the Leeds fans…
