Patrick Bamford was missing from Leeds United’s under-23 lineup.

Several Leeds fans are hoping that Patrick Bamford’s absence from the Whites’ under-23 squad for their trip to Birmingham City on Saturday is a sign that he may find himself on the bench for the first-team’s huge Championship clash with Norwich at Elland Road.
Bamford has been something of an elusive figure since his move to Leeds in the summer. He has spent much of his spell with the Whites on the sidelines due to injury.
The 25-year-old was the marquee addition ahead of the season, and his absence has been made all the more frustrating by the fact that his one appearance since August saw the striker score the winning goal at Bolton.
That game came in December, and he subsequently suffered another setback that has kept him out of Bielsa’s plans since. But after videos emerged showing Bamford in training, plenty of fans are wondering why he has not been included in the under-23 squad to face Birmingham at Saturday lunchtime.

The club may have perhaps decided to be particularly cautious regarding how they handle his recovery – especially with the promotion race starting to heat up – but some are wondering whether his name will appear on the teamsheet later on today.
Leeds host Norwich this evening in a game that pits the top two in the Championship against each other, and a number of supporters believe that Bamford may find himself on the bench for arguably the Whites’ most important game of the season so far.

Here is how some of the Leeds fans have reacted to Bamford’s absence from the under-23 side…
