Pablo Hernandez wasn’t among the Leeds United players named in the Championship Team of the Year.

Leeds United fans on Twitter can’t quite believe that Pablo Hernandez didn’t make it into the Championship Team of the Year.
The English Football League released their XI for 2018-19 and Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips were the only Leeds representatives, with Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder being named Manager of the Year.
Hernandez has been the heartbeat behind the Whites’ Premier League promotion push by scoring 10 and setting up 11 in 29 Championship outings.
For a long time it seemed like he was a shoo-in to be nominated for Championship Player of the Year, let alone make the XI.
Here’s how Leeds fans reacted to the snub:
If we’re honest, it is a bit strange that the Spanish playmaker hasn’t been included, but he won’t care. Being the professional he is, Hernandez will be focused on inspiring Leeds to the Premier League and if he achieves that then it will make a mockery of the decision.
The Whites are third in the Championship and one point behind the second-placed Blades, who also had two players in the XI – Billy Sharp and Oliver Norwood.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side host Millwall on Saturday in the first of eight games left this season.
The EFL awards will be held on April 7 in London.
