Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that Leeds United are likely to be without Liam Cooper for their next Championship fixture.

Several Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration after Marcelo Bielsa suggested, in comments reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, that Liam Cooper is unlikely to be fit for Monday’s game against Brentford.
Cooper has missed the last two games after injuring himself in the warm-up ahead of the 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday. And while the Whites did not miss the defender against the Owls, they certainly could have done with him in the side in their most recent clash.
Wigan left Elland Road with the three points after coming from behind with 10 men on the pitch to win 2-1. With the Latics struggling in the table and Sheffield United winning earlier in the afternoon, it was about as bad an afternoon as possible for Bielsa’s men.
No Leeds player will have held their head high after the game, but the centre-back pairing of Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi in particular seemed to struggle to cope to deal with the visitors’ attacking players.

So Bielsa’s admission that Cooper is a major doubt for the trip to Griffin Park appears to be a serious blow for Leeds as they look for their first win away at Brentford since 1950.
Plenty of supporters believe that Berardi should be taken out of the starting lineup on Monday, with Kalvin Phillips moving into centre-back alongside Jansson as Leeds look to get their automatic-promotion push back on track.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to Bielsa’s update on Cooper…
