The Leeds United boss has a relationship with Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola.
Some Leeds United fans on Twitter have implored Marcelo Bielsa to use his relationship with Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola to sign players.
Bielsa, who has won his first three competitive games in charge of Leeds, once signed the now-Tottenham manager for Newell’s Old Boys, with the Argentine also later playing under him at international level.
The 63-year-old needed a work permit to work in England via the Football Association’s exceptional talent route, but Pochettino wrote a letter in support of his former manager to facilitate his appointment at Leeds back in June.
Guardiola, who won the Premier League with Man City last season, has often revealed his affection and respect for the man who he once claimed was the ‘best coach in the world’ [Goal.com].
Bielsa has already signed one of Guardiola’s players this summer in the form of Jack Harrison, who joined Leeds on a season-long loan from the Etihad Stadium club, but the veteran coach claimed in a press conference on Thursday that he wouldn’t use his “personal relationship” with either manager to sign anyone else for “professional reasons”.
But some fans of the Elland Road club are urging him to reconsider that stance:
