Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Calciomercato revealed that Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Lovro Majer was in Victor Orta’s sights.
The Italian news outlet also credit Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina, Valencia and Sevilla as others interested in signing the Croatian, who is compared to Real Madrid star Luka Modric in the report.
Calciomercato state that the 22-year-old has a contract with the Croatian giants until 2023, but is ready for a new challenge in a more promising division.
It is also mentioned that AC Milan are paying close attention to Majer, and will scout him in Zagreb’s Europa League clash with Feyenoord.
In ten games so far this season, the Zagreb-born midfielder has netted three goals and registered three assists.
In total, Majer has scored 24 goals and assisted 26 in 110 career appearances.
The man who was wanted by Pep Guardiola a couple of years ago, according to The Sun, also has 14 caps for the Croatia Under-21 side, who he has scored four goals for.
Marcelo Bielsa seemed keen to land a midfielder during the window, with Frenchman Michael Cuisance extremely close to signing but for a failed medical, as Sky Sports report.
With the January window on the horizon, it seems like Orta is plotting to find Bielsa a new midfield man once again.
