The Leeds United youngster has scored in each of his last two matches.
While Leeds United’s senior stars were running out 2-0 winners against Oxford United in their last pre-season friendly of the summer, the Whites’ next generation were staking a claim in their own clash with Scarborough, and one player in particular caught the eye.
Jamie Shackleton has been tipped for big things for quite some time now, with former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn telling Radio Yorkshire back in 2016 that he had the innate talent to go all the way.

“There’s a little boy, a midfield player called Jamie Shackleton,” Redfearn said at the time. “I think he’s got a great chance.”
On recent evidence the former Leeds academy supremo is right, with the 17-year-old scoring a fine goal against Tadcaster Albion last week and following that up with another strike this weekend.
The Leeds teenager still has a long way to go, but it would be no surprise to see him featuring regularly for the under-23 side this season, along with another exciting midfielder Romario Vieira.
Like his brother, the lesser known twin has everything in his locker to make the same long-term impact at Elland Road and he shone against Scarborough.
That said, it was Shackleton who took the plaudits for his goal, and his showings this summer may have given new Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen something to think about.
