A number of Leeds fans have praised Jack Harrison on Twitter after the young winger impressed during the Whites’ draw with Middlesbrough that ensures that Marcelo Bielsa’s side will top the Championship table heading into the international break.

The battle of the top two at Elland Road struggled to get out of a low gear on Friday night and neither goalkeeper had to produce anything more than a routine stop to keep the game goalless.

There was plenty of activity in both penalty areas, but the contest was scrappy and neither side was able to produce the kind of quality that had seen both take four wins from their previous five games in the league.

It may have been an underwhelming night for Leeds, but one player who certainly impressed the supporters was Harrison. The Manchester City-owned winger has endured a challenging start to life with the Whites and has faced criticism for his desire to sometimes take one too many touches.

But the 21-year-old looked a lot more dangerous against his old side, asking plenty of questions of George Friend down Leeds’ right flank and creating some openings with some gorgeous touches to bring down long balls from the likes of Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips.

Harrison was always facing a tricky task given that he was brought in to replace the injured – and inspired – Pablo Hernandez, but he performed extremely well and it is likely that Bielsa will be pleased with his display against Tony Pulis’ men.
