Leeds United fans were in awe of Jack Clarke as he inspired the Whites under-23s to a stunning win.

Leeds fans have been taking to Twitter to heap praise on Jack Clarke once again after the 17-year-old stole the show during the under-23 side’s emphatic victory over Cardiff City at Thorp Arch.

With the Championship season on hold and Leeds not carrying the best form into the international break, there is a real opportunity for the members of Carlos Corberan’s side to make a statement to first-team coach Paul Heckingbottom ahead of the final part of the season.

The under-23 side’s form has been extremely impressive lately, and they impressed once again as they defeated the Bluebirds 3-0 with Sam Dalby scoring yet again, before Clark Odour and Madger Gomes completed the rout.

He may not have got onto the scoresheet, but it was Clarke who seemed to get the most plaudits on social media during and after the game. The winger provided two assists in the win and looked a threat for the entire contest, dancing down the left wing and giving Cardiff’s right-back a torrid afternoon.

And he backed his incredible performance up with end product. Leeds posted a video of their second goal on their official Twitter account, and while it was Odour who scored, you would have been forgiven for being left mesmerised by the work that Clarke did on the wing to create the chance.

Clarke’s potential is becoming less and less of a secret and it seems inevitable that he will soon be in Heckingbottom’s thoughts for a first-team debut – with many fans urging the boss to give him a chance as soon as the home game against Bolton next Friday.
