Plenty of Leeds United fans want to see Izzy Brown given a chance with their automatic-promotion hopes looking bleak.

Leeds Uniteds Izzy Brown warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Leeds United at Riverside Stadium on February 9, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.

Several Leeds supporters have admitted that they are slightly annoyed watching Izzy Brown look bright for the under-23s when the first-team appear to need a miracle to secure automatic-promotion out of the Championship.

Unsurprisingly, Brown was named in the under-23 side that took on Newcastle on Tuesday night, and he was joined by a number of first-team stars, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Gaetano Berardi and Jack Clarke also featuring.

It was a hugely disappointing night for the Whites as they lost 3-0, and Brown was unable to hide his frustration at times. But in fairness to the attacking midfielder, he actually looked like the most likely Leeds player to create something.

And with Leeds looking destined for the play-offs, some of the fans on social media have suggested that now is the time for Marcelo Bielsa to give Brown another chance in the first-team.

The Whites’ hopes of finishing in the top two could be all but over before they take to the pitch to face Aston Villa on Sunday with Sheffield United playing a day earlier. And some supporters believe that using Brown in the final two games could be an inspired move, or at least worth the gamble.

He struggled on his debut against Queens Park Rangers earlier in the season, but is a player that can make an impact. And having been beaten by both Wigan and Brentford in their last two games, Leeds fans feel that now is the time to roll the dice after Brown’s latest under-23 display.
