Leeds United’s Adam Forshaw isn’t giving up his first XI place without a fight.

It looks like Leeds United’s Adam Forshaw is determined not to lose his spot in Marcelo Bielsa’s first XI.
According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Forshaw fell ill around 24 hours before Leeds’ 2-1 win at Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
But the Leeds midfielder put his illness to one side and met up with his Whites team-mates late on Saturday evening, before impressing against the Latics yesterday.
It illustrates his commitment to the cause, after the 27-year-old displaced Samuel Saiz to play ahead of the Spaniard in last week’s draw with Nottingham Forest – his first start of the season.
Forshaw, who missed the first six weeks of the season through injury, clearly doesn’t want to lose his place in Bielsa’s team so soon after winning it.
And fans of the Elland Road club are really impressed by that passion. Here is how some reacted to the revelation:
You can understand Forshaw’s reasoning. This is a player who cost a hefty £4.5 million [Daily Mail] back in January, and yet injury has denied him the chance to really become a big player for Leeds.
He missed over a month of action through injury last term, before undergoing foot surgery in August and missing another six weeks.
Then he had to dislodge a player of Saiz’s calibre, which takes some doing, so it’s clear that he wasn’t going to allow a mild illness to undo his hard work from recent weeks.
