Gaetano Berardi struggled for Leeds United on his return to their first XI today.

Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are criticising Gaetano Berardi.
The Swiss defender was originally named on the bench for Leeds’ visit of Sheffield Wednesday tonight, but started the clash after Luke Cooper pulled out very late on.
The 30-year-old only had 25 minutes of football since October under his belt prior to kickoff – and, well, it showed.
Berardi, normally a right-back, looked nervous alongside Pontus Jansson and Kalvin Phillips in a three-man central defence, and a number of hair-raising moments added to Whites fans’ anxieties in the stands.
He is very much a cult hero among a lot of Leeds fans and although Berardi did improve in the final quarter, some didn’t fancy him overall this evening.
Here is how United supporters reacted to his performance:
Berardi aside, it was a huge 1-0 win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who established a three-point cushion in the automatic promotion places.
Sheffield United conceded a late goal in their home draw with Millwall in one of the 3pm kickoffs, and Leeds took full advantage.
Jack Harrison was the hero, netting the winner on 65 minutes.
If Bielsa’s troops win their remaining four games, they will be ending their 15-year exile from the Premier League.
