Leeds United remain pretty well linked with signing Daniel James.
Two days ago, it was reported by The Sun that Leeds were in ‘regular contact’ over bringing the former Swansea City winger to Elland Road.
This is a move that looked like happening back in January of 2019 but a last-minute collapse resulted in him leaving Thorp Arch, having arrived to be unveiled.
The 22-year-old later joined Manchester United in a £15 million deal but things haven’t been going well for him under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He started last night’s 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the League Cup but struggled to have an impact, even when playing in his favoured position on the left.
Here’s how Leeds fans reacted to his performance on Twitter:
If Leeds genuinely do want him then James’s performance is precisely what’ll boost their hopes.
If United weren’t sure about offloading him before last night, then that display versus the Seagulls might have made their mind up.
But the Whites have a few irons on the fire right now – namely with regards to signing Michael Cuisance – and with four days left in the transfer window, it remains to be seen if Victor Orta can also wrap up a deal for the Welshman.
