Could Izzy Brown feature for Leeds this weekend?

Leeds Uniteds Izzy Brown warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Leeds United at Riverside Stadium on February 9, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.

Leeds United’s loan move for Izzy Brown has been a mix of curious and disappointing.

Brown arrived nursing a torn ACL, and the expectation was that he would play a role for Leeds in the second half of the season.

Leeds are cutting it fine to get him involved. Brown has played just nine minutes so far.

There are two theories behind this. Manager Marcelo Bielsa either does not rate him at all, or he is saving him for the play-offs as a secret weapon.

Brown has been playing for Leeds’ under-23s, and has impressed Bielsa’s translator, Salim Lamrani.

Lamrani posted a message on Twitter yesterday praising Brown’s contribution to the under-23s successful season, showing that he rates him.

Leeds are missing Tyler Roberts through injury for the play-off first leg against Derby County. Striker Patrick Bamford is suspended.

Surely now is the time to give Brown one last go, even from the bench.

Here is a look at how Leeds fans reacted to Lamrani’s message…
