Pablo Hernandez left St Andrew’s wearing a protective boot in images that will certainly worry a lot of Leeds United supporters.

With Garry Monk’s current side playing a key role in Leeds falling out of the top two, the Elland Road faithful may have thought that their day could not get worse on Saturday. But one photo has unfortunately added to their misery.
On the day of the Grand National, it seems fair to say that Leeds were not at the races at St Andrew’s. Marcelo Bielsa’s side had their chances against the Blues, but Che Adams was the man to find the back of the net as Patrick Bamford endured another miserable day in front of goal.
One reason that the Whites could not ask more questions of a Birmingham side that had lost their previous five games was that Pablo Hernandez was not given the chance to pull the strings like he had done at Millwall to devastating effect last week.
The Spaniard struggled to make an impression on the game, but he is certainly one of the players that Leeds fans will be looking to to provide the magic that gives the Whites a chance of moving back in front of Sheffield United.

Unfortunately, it appears that Bielsa will now be waiting to find out if Hernandez will be fit to face Preston North End on Tuesday after photos emerged showing the Spaniard leaving St Andrew’s wearing a protective boot.
It must be noted that the Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Leeds have played down the severity of the injury and are confident that he will be available for the next game. But that has not stopped the fans worrying on social media.

So many of Leeds’ side has stepped up this term, but there is perhaps no player within the squad that seems as irreplaceable right now as Hernandez. And it is clear that the fans feel that the Whites may as well start preparing for the play-offs if the magician is out for any substantial period.
Here is the image showing Hernandez leaving the ground as well as some of the fan responses…
