A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments that Victor Orta made to Leeds Live in which he hinted that the club were almost done with their business for this summer – and it appears that plenty of supporters are not happy.

It has been another mixed summer for the Whites. The initial delight at the news that Marcelo Bielsa is staying for another season has evaporated slightly, with the club’s only first-team additions arriving on loan at this stage, and a couple of big names leaving the club.

Pontus Jansson has been sold to Brentford, while Jack Clarke will spend this year on loan with Leeds after completing a permanent switch to Tottenham. Helder Costa’s arrival was a real statement from last season’s promotion contenders, but there is clearly a sense that more needs to be done – especially in the wake of Jansson’s exit.

When asked about replacing Jansson, Orta seemed to suggest that the club are happy with the options that they have, but did hint that their plans could still change in the final weeks of the window.

“We are always open in the market, but now we are [at] 90 per cent of the [squad we want],” he told Leeds Live.

“It’s always a decision of the club. We are in a situation that all of the decisions are totally co-ordinated between all the people within the club: board, director of football, head coach.”

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa takes his seat before the match during the Pre-season Friendly match between York City and Leeds United on July 10, 2019 in York, England.

Unfortunately for Orta, his comments do not appear to have gone down well with a number of the Leeds supporters on social media, with many adamant that the Whites have to strengthen their defensive options.

It has also been suggested that a new striker should also be on the shopping list. Worryingly, several fans are concerned that Bielsa’s men will struggle to get to the same hurdle that proved too big last season, let alone actually clear it during the coming campaign.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Orta’s comments…
