Leeds United youngster Ryan Edmondson has been called into England’s under-19 squad for the international break.

A number of Leeds supporters have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Ryan Edmondson has been called up into the England under-19 squad for their upcoming games against Germany and Greece.
Edmondson has long been considered one of the most exciting prospects in a Leeds youth system that is churning out talent at an alarming rate. The striker enjoyed an outstanding campaign last year with Carlos Corberan’s side, and will be looking to push himself onto Marcelo Bielsa’s radar this term.
The 18-year-old has had a taste of first-team football at Elland Road, but has not played for the senior side since the defeat to Birmingham City last September.
The news that he has been called up into Paul Simpson’s squad for the international break has attracted plenty of responses from the Leeds fans on social media, especially after the Whites were beaten by Swansea City at the weekend.

Several supporters have congratulated Edmondson on his inclusion in the squad, but there also a number of fans who have suggested that the recognition highlights how it may be time to give the striker another chance in the first-team.
Both Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah drew a blank at the weekend. And while it would be premature to suggest that Edmondson could push ahead of either in the pecking order, some believe that Bielsa needs to give himself the option to use the teenager from time to time, especially now that he is being recognised at international level.

Here is how some of the fans have reacted to Edmondson’s call-up…
