Leeds United have announced that Robbie Gotts has penned a new contract at Elland Road.

A large number of Leeds fans have expressed their delight at the news that the Whites have confirmed on their official website that Robbie Gotts has signed a new contract at Elland Road.
It is somewhat surprising that the 19-year-old is yet to make his debut for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Gotts has been a key player for Carlos Corberan’s under-23s, and his versatility would have potentially made him the ideal option for Bielsa given the injury problems he has dealt with.
But that senior debut cannot be too far around the corner. Leeds have announced this week that Gotts has extended his contract until the summer of 2022 with his previous deal set to expire at the end of this season.
Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely well amongst the Elland Road faithful on Twitter. The teenager is capable of playing anywhere down the right flank, and has even featured in more central roles in midfield for Corberan this term.

And with the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton establishing themselves as important members of the first-team squad this season – having not made their senior debuts before the campaign began – there seems no reason why Gotts could not follow those two into the side.
Many believe that it is a very good piece of business to tie him down to a lengthy deal as he is one of the most exciting players yet to make that first-team debut.
