Leeds United reportedly plan to listen to offers for Tom Pearce this summer.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Tom Pearce’s future after the Yorkshire Evening Post reported that the Whites plan to listen to offers for the left-back this summer.

Pearce has endured a difficult season having pushed his way into the first-team fold under Thomas Christiansen and then getting his chance during Paul Heckingbottom’s brief tenure at Elland Road.

He fell back down the pecking order under Marcelo Bielsa and left the club on loan during the January transfer window. Unfortunately, Scunthorpe’s relegation to League Two did little to help his cause ahead of his return to Thorp Arch.

The Yorkshire Evening Post is now reporting that Pearce is one of the players that Leeds will listen to bids for during the coming months, along with the likes of Pawel Cibicki, Laurens De Bock and Eunan O’Kane.

It is little surprise that the other names have been made available. But the suggestion that Pearce could leave appears to have divided some of the supporters on social media, with some expressing disappointment that he looks set to not get the chance to prove that he could be the answer to the club’s left-back woes.

However, there are other fans on Twitter who appear to be in favour of Pearce being sold. The priority has got to be keeping the club’s key players, and if selling the youngster can help alleviate any need to sell the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Jack Clarke, then it is a sacrifice worth making.
