A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report from Finnish outlet Helsingin Sanomat which has claimed that Aapo Halme has agreed to join Barnsley permanently this summer – and it appears that the supporters are divided on his reportedly imminent exit.

Halme appeared set to go into this season with an outside chance of getting some more game-time for Marcelo Bielsa’s side after making his senior debut for the Whites last term.

He made a handful of appearances and featured regularly on the bench during the latter weeks of the season when Bielsa had to cope with a number of injuries. Nevertheless, it appears that he is on his way out of Elland Road this summer.

Helsingin Sanomat reports that the Finland under-21 international has agreed a three-year deal at Oakwell as Barnsley prepare for life back in the Championship having secured promotion last season.

The news has been by a mixed response on social media. There are plenty who believe that Halme has plenty to offer and it would be a mistake to let him leave permanently, even if he is well down the pecking order heading into this season.

However, others seem to think that Leeds are making the right decision in letting him go. They are not convinced that he has as much potential as some believe and is one of the under-23 starlets that the Whites can afford to sell this summer.
