A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun on Sunday (7/7; page 61) at the weekend suggesting that Marcelo Bielsa is interested in signing Ryan Woods if Kalvin Phillips leaves Elland Road this summer.

Phillips’ future remains up in the air with The Sun reporting that Aston Villa want the midfielder, who Leeds value at £30 million after an outstanding first campaign working under Bielsa.

The Whites are clearly desperate to hold onto the academy graduate. But they are also making sure that they are prepared in case they do lose the 23-year-old during the coming weeks.

The Sun on Sunday (7/7; page 61) reports that Leeds are interested in Woods, who cost Stoke City £7 million when he joined from Brentford, according to Sky Sports.

Woods has endured a difficult first year with the Potters and barely featured under Nathan Jones during the second-half of the campaign. Nevertheless, there has been plenty of positive reaction to the reports that Leeds want the midfielder.

No fan on social media appears to be in any mood to see Woods replace Phillips. But several have suggested that Leeds should look to have both men on their books next season as he can be a class act and could be an inspired addition to the Whites’ midfield options.
